Phillies Floated as Possible Francisco Lindor Trade Partner

On November 2, Philadelphia was named as a possible trade destination for New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor, though a deal is considered unlikely.
The Phillies could explore the trade market this offseason, and New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor has emerged as a possible fit. Philadelphia is coming off another postseason exit and may look for changes, but a trade for Lindor is viewed as a long shot.
The fit could depend on what the Phillies do with Trea Turner. Turner had a poor 2026 season at the plate and in the field, though Philadelphia is expected to give him another opportunity at shortstop. A shift to the outfield is also a possibility, which could leave the team looking for help at the position.
Lindor, meanwhile, had a difficult season of his own. He hit .225 with a .309 on-base percentage and .423 slugging percentage, adding 21 home runs and 49 RBIs in 105 games. He missed significant time. In each of the three seasons before 2026, his OPS was above .800, and he has shown the ability to be a top offensive shortstop when healthy.
The Mets have missed the playoffs in consecutive seasons and could continue trying to reset their roster. Lindor’s name may circulate in trade discussions this winter, but Philadelphia’s interest and the prospect of a deal remain uncertain.
