Hornets Keep White on Bench for Pistons Rematch

Charlotte and Detroit announced their starting lineups for their November 2 game, the teams’ second meeting in less than a week. Coby White is set to make his season debut for the Hornets off the bench.
Charlotte will turn to Brandon Miller and its returning scoring option Coby White as it tries to end a three-game losing streak against Detroit on November 2. White, making his season debut, is set to come off the bench rather than replace a starter. The Pistons won the teams’ first meeting, 97-89, on October 28.
The Hornets’ starters are Dennis Schröder, Sion James, Miller, Moussa Diabaté and Naz Reid. Miller led Charlotte in the first matchup with 31 points and 12 rebounds. Diabaté and Reid could have more room to make an impact near the basket with Detroit center Jalen Duren unavailable.
Detroit’s starting group is Cade Cunningham, Duncan Robinson, Ausar Thompson, Paul Reed and John Collins. Cunningham had 30 points and seven assists in the earlier game, while Reed scored 16 points. Reed is starting with Duren sidelined. Thompson contributed seven points, nine rebounds and eight assists in the first matchup.
