Goodwin Questionable as Suns Begin Seven-Game Homestand

Phoenix guard Jordan Goodwin is questionable with right calf soreness for the Suns’ November 4 home game against Portland, as the team looks to end a three-game skid.
The Phoenix Suns listed Jordan Goodwin as questionable for their November 4 matchup with the Portland Trail Blazers after he hurt his right calf during Monday’s 116-113 loss to Golden State. He left in the second quarter and did not return. Coach Jordan Ott said the injury occurred near the Suns’ bench but did not specify how it happened.
Goodwin has averaged 7.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.6 steals in Phoenix’s first five games, while shooting 37.5% from three-point range. Rasheer Fleming is also questionable, with a left ankle sprain. Mark Williams remains out following left shoulder surgery. Portland will be without Ja Morant, who has a left hamstring strain, and Shaedon Sharpe, sidelined by a right meniscus injury.
The game opens a seven-game homestand for Phoenix, which is 1-4. The Suns had built a 17-point first-half advantage against Golden State before losing the lead and the game. Devin Booker said the team needed to sustain its effective stretches for the full contest. Phoenix is also seeking a better result against Portland after losing the season opener 124-83, when the Blazers scored the first 21 points. Portland enters at 5-1. Miles Bridges said Phoenix needed to be more thoughtful in key situations as it tries to turn its recent improvement into wins.
