Nets Need Home Wins to Change Their Season

On November 4, the 1-6 Brooklyn Nets host the Charlotte Hornets at Barclays Center, looking for their first home win of the season.
The Brooklyn Nets entered November 4 at 1-6, after opening the season with five straight losses before beating the Indiana Pacers on Sunday. They then lost to the New York Knicks, leaving them at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings.
Brooklyn hosts the Charlotte Hornets at Barclays Center on Wednesday night, seeking its first victory at home. The Nets are 0-3 in their own building so far, and improving that record is seen as an important step toward making the season more competitive.
The team had reason to hope for a better campaign after adding Julius Randle and Mikel Brown Jr. Its 2027 draft pick is also set to go to Houston. But with 75 games still to play, those changes have yet to produce a strong start.
The Nets have not consistently enjoyed a home-court edge since moving to Brooklyn in 2012, with the Knicks holding a stronger following in New York. Still, success at Barclays Center does not depend solely on crowd size. The team has passionate supporters, and winning could help bring more of them into the arena.
Regardless of the club’s postseason prospects, home victories would be a meaningful part of its rebuilding effort. The Nets have time to improve, but need to start turning their home games into wins.
