On November 1, Nashville acquired forward Shane Wright from Seattle in a one-for-one trade for Matthew Wood.

The Nashville Predators brought in Seattle Kraken forward Shane Wright on November 1, sending Matthew Wood to Seattle in a one-for-one deal. Wright, 22, was selected fourth overall in the 2022 NHL Draft; Nashville drafted Wood 15th overall the following year.

Wright has played all 14 games for Seattle this season, tallying three goals and four total points, with an average ice-time figure of 14:14. He scored 12 goals and totaled 27 points in 74 games last season. The center and winger made his NHL debut in October 2022 and became a regular in the league during the 2024-25 season.

Wood, 21, has put up one goal and three points across 14 appearances this season, averaging 14:03 per game. In 71 games last season, he scored 17 goals and recorded 30 points. He joined Nashville in 2025 after playing college hockey at UConn and Minnesota.

Nashville will be looking for Wright to develop into a top-line player, while Wood is expected to have a top-nine role with Seattle. The trade adds to a series of moves by Predators president and general manager Chris MacFarland, who took over in June.
