Bruins Unveil Brown Varsity Sweaters for 2026-27

The Boston Bruins unveiled brown-and-gold third jerseys honoring the city’s college hockey culture. The team will wear them 12 times this season, starting November 12 against the Montreal Canadiens.
Boston’s new third jerseys put a collegiate spin on the Bruins’ look, with brown fabric, gold details, shoulder patches and the team name across the chest. The club says the uniforms are its first all-brown design since its inaugural season in 1924 and are part of the NHL’s Hometown Remix collection, created to reflect each team’s local culture.
Bruins president Cam Neely said Boston’s colleges and the Beanpot tournament were central to the design concept. The sweater also includes a secondary crest, a number on the front—a feature absent from Bruins jerseys since the 1940s—and a hem detail inspired by the red-brick Freedom Trail.
The team plans to wear the uniforms 12 times in 2026-27, beginning at home against Montreal on November 12. Other dates include November 14 against Minnesota and November 27 against Toronto, followed by games through March 6, when Pittsburgh visits Boston. The schedule also includes road appearances at the Islanders, Canadiens and Red Wings.
