Tampa Bay defeated Detroit 4-2 in Tampa on November 3, extending its home winning streak to seven games. Brayden Point scored twice, while Nikita Kucherov contributed a pair of helpers during his initial home outing after requesting a trade.

Brayden Point scored twice as Tampa Bay's Lightning claimed a 4-2 win over Detroit's Red Wings in Tampa on November 3, earning their seventh consecutive home victory. Anthony Cirelli also scored for Tampa Bay, and goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy made 19 saves. Ryan McDonagh added an empty-net goal with one second remaining after Detroit pressed with an extra attacker in the closing minutes.

Point opened the scoring on a first-period power play, converting a pass from Nikita Kucherov. He scored again 5:07 later, with Kucherov providing the setup. Cirelli made it 3-0 in the second period. Detroit goalie John Gibson, who had stopped 11 of 13 shots, was replaced by Daniil Tarasov to begin the period.

Lucas Raymond cut the deficit with a second-period goal, and J.T. Compher brought Detroit within one early in the third, scoring on a power play. The Red Wings could not find an equalizer before McDonagh’s goal sealed the result.

Kucherov recorded two assists in his first home appearance since asking Tampa Bay to trade him. He has five assists across two games since making the request. Kucherov said he sought a move because he felt disrespected by limited communication with general manager Julien BriseBois. He enters the final campaign of a deal spanning eight years and worth $76 million, agreed to in 2018.

Detroit is scheduled to host Las Vegas on November 5, while Tampa Bay is set to host Chicago that night.
