Garand Leads Rangers Past Blues to End Four-Game Slide

The New York Rangers beat the St. Louis Blues 3-1 at Madison Square Garden on November 3, ending a four-game losing streak behind a strong performance from goaltender Dylan Garand.
Dylan Garand stopped 31 shots as the Rangers ended a four-game losing streak with a 3-1 victory over the Blues at Madison Square Garden on November 3. Adam Fox scored and added an assist, while Oliver Bjorkstrand and Eeli Tolvanen also found the net for New York.
The Rangers weathered a difficult first period, taking three penalties as St. Louis pressed. Garand made 10 saves in the period, then kept the Blues off the scoreboard through the next two periods. New York finished with no goals on three power plays; St. Louis went scoreless on six chances.
Fox opened the scoring early in the second period, converting a pass from Tye Kartye. J.T. Miller also assisted. New York extended its lead in the third: Will Cuylle helped start the play after breaking up a pass, and Tolvanen set up Bjorkstrand for a goal into an open net.
With St. Louis’s Joel Hofer pulled for an extra attacker, Tolvanen added an empty-net goal, his first game this season with multiple points. Pius Suter scored for the Blues in the final minute, ending Garand’s bid for a second shutout this season. Hofer made 28 saves.
The win was a needed response for Garand, who had struggled in recent appearances while filling in for injured goaltender Igor Shesterkin. New York hosts the Philadelphia Flyers on November 5. The Blues continue their road trip against the New Jersey Devils that night.
