Nick Schmaltz scored a late power-play goal as Utah’s Mammoth defeated Toronto’s Maple Leafs 3-2 in Toronto on November 3, 2026.

Nick Schmaltz broke a 2-2 tie with 6:48 left in regulation, scoring on a power play to give Utah a 3-2 win over Toronto on November 3. The Mammoth scored the winner after Sergei Bobrovsky stopped Clayton Keller’s shot, with Schmaltz putting the loose puck into the net.

Utah also got goals from Dylan Guenther and Andrew Peeke, while Sebastian Cossa made 27 saves. Keller had three assists. Guenther opened the scoring with a power-play goal with 12.4 seconds left in the first period.

Jack Roslovic scored both Toronto goals, and Auston Matthews assisted on each. Roslovic tied the game in the second after a Maple Leafs odd-man rush was disrupted when Troy Stecher’s stick broke. Peeke put Utah ahead 2-1 later in the period with a shot through traffic.

Peeke’s goal stood after Barrett Hayton’s skates appeared to make contact with Bobrovsky’s during the play. Toronto chose not to challenge, which would have risked a minor penalty. Roslovic tied the game again at 9:05 of the third, but Schmaltz’s late goal secured the win.

Utah is scheduled to visit Montreal on Thursday. Toronto will host the Canadiens on Saturday. The Mammoth are set to return home on November 12 after playing 13 of their first 19 games on the road.
