Wyatt Kaiser scored the go-ahead goal as Chicago beat Los Angeles 2-1 on October 27, ending the Blackhawks’ three-game losing streak.

Chicago rallied from an early deficit to win 2-1 at home on October 27. Spencer Knight stopped 25 shots, while Wyatt Kaiser broke the tie in the third period with his first tally this season, firing from the left circle past Anton Forsberg at 7:17. It was Kaiser’s 11th career goal in 187 games.

Los Angeles struck first at 2:31. Jared Wright’s attempt got past Knight, and Samuel Helenius put the puck in to score for the first time this season. Los Angeles kept its 1-0 advantage until late in the second period, when two penalties against Joel Armia gave Chicago a power-play opportunity. Connor Bedard set up rookie Roman Kantserov, who tied the score at 16:40 with his team-leading fifth goal.

The Blackhawks also killed a double-minor assessed to Sam Rinzel for high-sticking. Chicago improved to 3-4-0 during its seven-game homestand. The Kings, who scratched Drew Doughty and Corey Perry after Monday’s game, ended their trip with a 3-2-0 record.

Kaiser’s goal came on a play resembling his game-winner against Los Angeles last December. Coach Jeff Blashill praised Kaiser’s effort and said he had played several good games in succession. Chicago also changed its forward lines, with a trio of Frank Nazar, Oliver Moore and Patrick Kane outshooting the Kings 10-1 while on the ice.

The Kings are set to host Ottawa on Thursday, while Chicago visits Detroit that night.
