Corbin Carroll Wins First Gold Glove

Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll won his first Rawlings Gold Glove on November 1 for his defense in right field during the 2026 season.
Carroll was among three Diamondbacks players to receive Gold Gloves on November 1. The honor recognizes his work in right field during the 2026 season, and came after he was named a finalist for the second year in a row.
His defensive numbers ranked among the best at his position. Carroll recorded 10 Defensive Runs Saved, the most among major league right fielders and ninth among outfielders across all three positions. Another season measure cited for him was 12 Defensive Runs Saved, a career high and fourth among right fielders.
Carroll’s throwing arm has been viewed as a weakness, but his speed, instincts and ability to track balls have helped make him an effective defender. His improvement has been steady: in 2023, he had minus-4 Defensive Runs Saved, followed by minus-3 in 2024. He rose to plus-8 in 2025, when he was a finalist but did not win.
The award adds to a record of progress on defense, even as Carroll’s offense was below its peak in 2026. His overall contributions were worth slightly more than 4.5 Wins Above Replacement, according to the account. It is his first Gold Glove.
