Cristopher Sánchez, Jhoan Duran and Don Mattingly became finalists for National League awards, MLB announced on November 2. Winners are due to be revealed during the week of November 9.

On November 2, three members of the Philadelphia Phillies were named finalists for National League honors. Cristopher Sánchez is again in the running for the Cy Young Award, closer Jhoan Duran is a finalist for the league’s new Reliever of the Year honor, and Don Mattingly is among the Manager of the Year contenders.

Sánchez, who was the unanimous runner-up to Pittsburgh’s Paul Skenes in 2025, is up against Atlanta’s Chris Sale and Milwaukee’s Jacob Misiorowski. He posted a 2.91 ERA in 2026 and started the All-Star Game for the National League in Philadelphia. His 8.1 bWAR, 33 starts and 18 wins led NL pitchers. Sánchez logged a career-high 207 innings, second-most in baseball behind Miami’s Sandy Alcantara, who had 214.

Duran finished with a 1.84 ERA and a 0.994 WHIP over 59⅓ innings. He converted 33 of 35 save opportunities, the fourth-highest total in the NL. The Brewers’ Trevor Megill and Padres’ Mason Miller are the other finalists for the first-year award.

Mattingly took charge after Rob Thomson was dismissed on April 28. The Phillies went 79-55 under him after opening the season 9-19, finished second in the NL East and reached the wild-card series, where Atlanta eliminated them in three games. Philadelphia made Mattingly its full-time manager this offseason.

The Baseball Writers’ Association of America votes on the awards. Winners are scheduled to be announced during the week of November 9, along with the MVP and Rookie of the Year awards for both leagues.
