Thunder to Retire Russell Westbrook’s No. 0

On November 2, 2026, the Oklahoma City Thunder announced they will retire Russell Westbrook’s No. 0 on February 7, 2027, during a home game against the New York Knicks.
The Oklahoma City Thunder will raise Russell Westbrook’s No. 0 jersey to the rafters at Paycom Center on February 7, 2027, when the team hosts the New York Knicks. The ceremony honors a player who spent 11 of his 18 NBA seasons with the franchise and retired this offseason.
Westbrook holds Oklahoma City’s team records for games played, points scored, rebounds, assists, steals, field goals converted and minutes played. Across 821 appearances for the Thunder, he averaged 23 points, 8.4 assists and seven rebounds per game. The team reached the NBA Finals in 2012 and made the playoffs nine times during his tenure.
His most decorated season came in 2016-17, when he won league MVP after averaging 31.6 points, 10.7 rebounds and 10.4 assists. His 42 triple-doubles that season remain an NBA record; his 209 career triple-doubles are also the most in league history.
General manager Sam Presti said Westbrook’s contributions extended to the community and that people in Oklahoma consider him one of their own. Westbrook will be the second Thunder player to have his number retired, after Nick Collison, whose No. 4 was honored in 2019.
