Thunder Add Dalen Terry Amid Major Injury Absences

Oklahoma City is adding former Bulls and 76ers wing Dalen Terry on a two-year deal, filling its last roster spot as injuries sideline three starters. The move was announced on November 3.

The Thunder are set to sign Dalen Terry to a two-year contract, bringing the former Chicago and Philadelphia wing to Oklahoma City from the Santa Cruz Warriors’ G League team. The agreement would use the club’s final available roster place, though it had not been made official at the time of the announcement.

The signing comes after Jalen Williams, Chet Holmgren and Cason Wallace were injured in the same game on October 25. All three are expected to miss at least 20 more games, leaving Oklahoma City short-handed as the 2026-27 season continues.

Terry, selected 18th overall in the 2022 draft, is expected to offer defensive effort and athleticism on the wing. He is about 6-foot-7 and has guard skills, but has not averaged more than 14 minutes a game in any season. In his latest stint, with Philadelphia, he posted 4.1 points, 1.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 0.5 steals per game.

His role on offense may depend in part on his outside shooting: Terry has made 31% of his career three-point attempts. The Thunder have previously added Micah Peavy, who has contributed in several games, and Terry could be another option for extra minutes while key players recover.

Oklahoma City may also ask less of Terry as a ball-handler than Chicago did. Playing alongside Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, a two-time MVP, and guards Ajay Mitchell and Jared McCain could let him focus more on defense and finishing plays.
