Maxey and James power 76ers past Bulls for seventh win

Philadelphia beat Chicago 126-107 on November 2, improving to 7-1 behind Tyrese Maxey’s 26 points and a strong all-around game from LeBron James.
The 76ers defeated the Bulls 126-107 in Philadelphia on November 2, extending their winning streak to four games and moving to 7-1. Maxey led all scorers with 26 points and added 11 assists, while James recorded 15 points, nine assists and seven rebounds.
Jaylen Brown had 25 points and 11 rebounds, and rookie VJ Edgecombe scored 21. Joel Embiid, who had been questionable with a foot injury, finished with 15 points and eight rebounds. Philadelphia’s starting five played together after sitting out the team’s two weekend victories as a group.
Edgecombe scored 15 points in the first half, making all seven of his shots. James helped create early chances for him with long passes in transition, and Edgecombe also contributed defensively and on the boards. His 21 points marked his first 20-point game of the season.
Philadelphia stretched a five-point halftime lead to 17 in the third quarter. Maxey, relatively quiet earlier, scored 15 of his points in the fourth, including a three-pointer that put the 76ers ahead 107-96 with six and a half minutes remaining. Embiid did not play in the final quarter.
Caleb Wilson led Chicago with 24 points, while Norman Powell added 18. The Bulls have now lost five straight. Chicago visits the Knicks on November 4, and Philadelphia travels to face the Pistons that day.
