The Milwaukee Bucks lost 112-100 to the Minnesota Timberwolves on November 2, as rookie guard Brayden Burries made his first career start. LaMelo Ball scored 34 points for Minnesota.

Milwaukee made its first change to the starting lineup of the season on November 2, giving rookie guard Brayden Burries his first career start in place of Ryan Rollins. The move came after the Bucks opened the season 1-5. They lost to Minnesota, 112-100, and fell to 1-6.

Burries had nine points and nine rebounds, making 4 of 15 field-goal attempts and 1 of 7 from beyond the arc. He took 11 shots in the first half, more than any other Buck, but made only three. He had one turnover and found more success when driving toward the basket. Rollins, who entered from the bench, had somewhat more success, leaving the starting lineup decision open for upcoming games.

Tyler Herro paced Milwaukee, scoring 21, grabbing six boards, dishing three assists and recording three steals. For Minnesota, Ball took on a larger role with Anthony Edwards expected to miss at least two months after an arthroscopic procedure. Ball scored 34 points, adding six rebounds and three assists, and made 12 of 21 shots, including six of 13 three-pointers.

The Bucks trailed by four entering the fourth quarter, but Minnesota outscored them 32-24 to pull away. Milwaukee made two of nine three-point attempts in the period, while the Timberwolves collected nine offensive rebounds and scored 10 second-chance points. The late struggles followed a pattern for the Bucks, who have had trouble sustaining strong play through all four quarters this season.
