Bridges Sits as Knicks Rally Past Nets

The New York Knicks beat the Brooklyn Nets 103-90 at Madison Square Garden on November 2, 2026, while Mikal Bridges played only 16 minutes and sat out most of the second half.
Bridges scored six points on 1-of-7 shooting in the Knicks’ win, another difficult outing during a slow start to the 2026-27 season. Bridges took the floor for the opening three minutes of period three, then remained on the bench as New York mounted its comeback. This marked the third occasion across seven contests when coach Mike Brown pulled him during the third quarter.
Bridges is averaging 6.1 points, converting 30.8% of his overall attempts and 26.9% beyond the arc. He has played 13 minutes or fewer in two of the Knicks’ recent wins, and is averaging 3.7 field-goal attempts per game.
Brown urged Bridges to keep contributing through running, cutting, rebounding and driving while he works through the slump. “It’s a matter of time, in my opinion, before Mikal gets going,” Brown said.
The Knicks also adjusted their backup point-guard rotation. Jose Alvarado returned Monday following a four-game absence caused by an ankle sprain and played eight minutes without scoring or recording an assist. Tyler Kolek, who had been third in the rotation, entered to start the fourth quarter as the offense stalled; he had two points and one assist in five minutes. Brown said before the game that he tries not to remove a player from his rotation spot because of an injury.
