Indiana beat Eastern Illinois 91-57 in Bloomington on November 2, opening its 2026-27 season with strong defense and scoring from across the roster.

Indiana forced nine turnovers and held Eastern Illinois without a field goal for the final 9:44 of the first half. The Panthers managed only six shot attempts in that stretch, scoring twice from the free-throw line, while Indiana committed three fouls. The defensive pressure helped fuel 29 points off turnovers and 20 fast-break points in the 91-57 win in Bloomington on November 2.

The Hoosiers led by 19 at halftime even though Aiden Sherrell, Bryce Lindsay and Darren Harris were a combined 3-for-14 from the floor. The trio finished 8-for-27 from the field and 3-for-12 from three-point range. Lindsay made three threes after the break, while Indiana got additional scoring from its bench: Trevor Manhertz had 11 points, and Jaeden Mustaf and Trent Sisley each scored eight.

Markus Burton led all scorers with 19 points, making all three of his three-point attempts. He also had five assists against one turnover and recorded two steals, helping Indiana maintain its offensive flow while disrupting Eastern Illinois’ possessions.

Indiana’s defensive effort and depth helped it win comfortably on a night when several expected scorers struggled. Sherrell, Lindsay and Harris will need to contribute more consistently as the season continues.
