Georgia and Miami Lead College Football Ratings as Concerns Grow

Tom Fornelli kept Georgia and Miami first and second in his college football power ratings on November 3, while noting concerns about both teams as the season enters November.
Georgia stayed at No. 1 and Miami at No. 2, but both contenders have shown emerging flaws. Georgia quarterback Gunner Stockton struggled against Auburn and Florida, while Miami’s defense has recently given up 35 points to Florida State, 23 to Pitt and 35 to North Carolina after holding its first five opponents to 20 or fewer. Georgia beat Florida in a blowout; Miami’s offense has continued to produce.
Notre Dame moved up to No. 3 despite injuries ahead of its game against Miami. Linebacker Drayk Bowen, the team’s leading tackler, is ruled out, while Notre Dame’s defensive front players Francis Brewu and Jason Onye could miss the game. Alabama rose to fourth after a bye and is set to visit No. 6 LSU. Ohio State fell from third to fifth after losing to USC, a defeat that angered Buckeyes fans.
Ole Miss climbed to seventh after scoring on nearly every second-half possession against Auburn. Indiana dropped to eighth and has a bye after opening the season with nine consecutive games; the team appeared worn down. Texas ranked ninth after beating Mississippi State 31-3, though the Bulldogs were weakened without Kamario Taylor. The rankings had little overall movement, but several high-profile matchups this week could change that.
