Rams rebound as injured players near return

The Los Angeles Rams rose to 4-4 after two straight wins, and coach Sean McVay said on November 2 that key players would begin return-to-practice windows this week.
The Rams’ season has shifted sharply after back-to-back victories lifted them from 2-4 to .500. The team had been last in the NFC West after a loss to Arizona, with injuries disrupting its roster and its Super Bowl hopes in doubt.
McVay said defensive player Garrett would return to practice this week and start a 21-day period in which he can be activated, having spent close to eight weeks on injured reserve while recovering from knee surgery. He could be available for Sunday’s game against the Washington Commanders, though Los Angeles can take time before activating him.
Tight end Terrance Ferguson is also expected to start a 21-day activation window. The Rams have been short-handed at receiver and tight end, and Ferguson’s return could add another option for quarterback Matthew Stafford.
Further reinforcements may follow. Defensive lineman Kobie Turner is expected back after a groin injury, while receiver Davante Adams could return from a hamstring injury around the bye week or soon afterward. The team considers Jaylen Watson, Colby Parkinson and Trent McDuffie day-to-day ahead of Sunday’s game.
After Washington, Los Angeles plays Arizona before its bye. Winning both would put the Rams at 6-4 and leave them with four consecutive wins and seven games remaining. The team still has issues, particularly on special teams, but the recent wins and potential returns have improved its outlook.
Players: Matthew Stafford, Davante Adams, Colby Parkinson, Trent McDuffie, Jaylen Watson, Kobie Turner, Terrance Ferguson
