Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said on November 3 that George Pickens should see more targets after catching two passes in Dallas’ loss to Arizona on November 1.

Jerry Jones said the Cowboys need to involve George Pickens more after the wide receiver had two catches on four targets in Dallas’ overtime loss to the Arizona Cardinals on November 1. The defeat left Dallas with a 3-5 record.

Speaking during his weekly appearance on 105.3 The Fan on November 3, Jones said the team’s game plan had focused on running the ball. “He needs the ball coming his way more,” Jones said, adding that Dallas should direct more plays toward Pickens.

The Cowboys ran 39 times for 93 yards. Quarterback Dak Prescott targeted CeeDee Lamb 11 times, while Pickens received four targets. Pickens played 57% of the offensive snaps; Ryan Flournoy was on the field for 68%.

Pickens has recorded 39 receptions for 533 yards and two touchdowns from 62 targets this season. Lamb leads Dallas with 60 receptions totaling 709 yards and six touchdowns from 92 targets.

Dallas is scheduled to face the Indianapolis Colts on November 8. Pickens is playing under the franchise tag after the team did not reach an extension agreement with him in the offseason. One report said his blocking and effort away from the ball have affected his playing time, and that his role could weigh on the team’s decision about a long-term contract.

Players: Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, Ryan Flournoy
