Texas Rangers utility player Ezequiel Duran won the American League Gold Glove at utility on November 1, recognizing his defensive work across seven positions.

Duran received the 2026 Rawlings Gold Glove Award at utility, his first in the major leagues. He is the first Texas Ranger to win the award at that position, which was introduced in 2022, and the 19th different Rangers player to earn a Gold Glove.

The 27-year-old played a career-high 153 games and appeared at seven defensive positions. He played third base in 57 games, shortstop in 53, second base in 37, left field in 21, center field in 18, right field in 14 and first base in three.

Duran was the sole major leaguer in 2026 to both open and complete a game at each position other than pitcher and catcher. His 17 Outs Above Average tied for sixth in the majors. At shortstop, he recorded 11 Outs Above Average, the fourth-highest total in the American League, despite starting there 49 times.

Three more Rangers reached finalist status without taking home the award: Wyatt Langford in left field, Evan Carter in center, and Jacob deGrom on the mound. Duran and the other winners are scheduled to be honored at a ceremony in New York City on November 6.
