The Boston Red Sox had 14 minor-league players become free agents when the league’s free-agency period opened on November 2, 2026. The group includes Triple-A slugger Allan Castro and infielder Vinny Capra.

The Red Sox lost 14 players from their minor-league system to free agency after the league’s market opened on November 2. Among the players are Allan Castro, Vinny Capra and left-hander Jeremy Wu-Yelland.

Castro, 23, played 119 games at Triple-A in 2026, batting .252 with 15 home runs, 77 RBIs and 20 stolen bases. He also hit 18 doubles. Boston did not add him to its 40-man roster, leaving him free to sign with another club.

Capra, a 30-year-old with four years of major-league experience, spent the season at Triple-A. Across 110 games, he hit .269, with 11 homers and 56 RBIs. He had joined Boston on a minor-league contract and did not appear in the majors for the Red Sox.

Wu-Yelland, 27, made 23 minor-league appearances in 2026, recording a 7.31 ERA over 32 innings. Most of those outings came at Double-A. The fourth-round draft pick in 2020 had posted a 3.15 ERA across High-A and Double-A in 2025.

The other players who became free agents are Osvaldo Berrios, John Brebbia, Devin Sweet, Reidis Sena, Ronald Rosario, Erik Rivera, Tomas Nido, Sam McWilliams, Kyle Keller, Hobie Harris, Jason Delay and John Brebbia. The players are now able to pursue opportunities with other teams.
