Phillies Lose 21 Players to Minor League Free Agency

Twenty-one players from Philadelphia’s farm system became minor league free agents as the offseason market opened on November 4, 2026. Fifteen spent the season with Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
On November 4, 2026, minor league free agency opened with 504 players across baseball eligible to seek new teams. Philadelphia had 21 players among them, a total exceeded by six organizations, including Seattle, which led with 36. The Phillies’ group included 15 players from Triple-A Lehigh Valley, five from Double-A Reading and one from High-A Jersey Shore.
Several of the departing players appeared in the majors. Outfielder Steward Berroa played six games for Philadelphia amid injuries to Adolis Garcia and Johan Rojas. Utility player Dylan Moore appeared in 16 games, going hitless in 12 at-bats and recording a minus-0.2 bWAR.
Carter Kieboom, a former first-round selection by Washington, played 107 games for Lehigh Valley, batting .270 with a .354 on-base percentage and .388 slugging percentage. He has not played in the majors since 2025. Pitcher Lou Trivino has the most major league experience among the players, with 337 appearances; he pitched 47 games in 2025 after missing the prior two seasons with injuries.
Right-hander Kolby Allard also reached the majors during the season, appearing in four games for Cleveland. The Phillies will need to replenish their minor league depth, while labor uncertainty may make it harder for some players to find new teams. A potential lockout date is December 2.
