On November 3, Minnesota signed forward Norchad Omier to a two-way contract and waived Enrique Freeman, who is expected to miss several weeks with an injury.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have signed Norchad Omier to a two-way deal, bringing back a player who attended their training camp. The move opened a spot by waiving Enrique Freeman, who had rejoined the team on October 28 but is expected to be sidelined for several weeks because of an injury.

Freeman was also waived during Minnesota’s preseason roster cuts on October 17. The team’s latest decision came less than a week after bringing him back. His injury, rather than a stated assessment of his play, was the reason given for the change.

The 6-foot-7 forward averaged 16.5 points and 8.7 rebounds for the Iowa Wolves last season, shooting 54.2% from the field. He also played four NBA games for Minnesota, recording 13 points and 10 rebounds. The team has not said whether it might sign him again after he recovers.

Omier appeared in six preseason games with Minnesota, averaging 1.8 points and 3.2 rebounds in limited minutes. The 25-year-old had a strong G League season, putting up 18.3 points and 11.4 rebounds per game across 38 appearances for the Cleveland Charge and San Diego Clippers.

At 6-foot-5 and 248 pounds, Omier is shorter than a typical NBA frontcourt player, but his strength and rebounding are among his potential assets. He has also played six NBA games for the Los Angeles Clippers. Minnesota now has another chance to assess him, while Freeman will need to recover before pursuing his next opportunity.
