Three Free Agents the Pacers Could Add to Their Roster

The Indiana Pacers can sign a player to their final roster spot on November 5, and injuries have prompted consideration of three free-agent options. The candidates are center Trey Jemison III, veteran big man Kevin Love and guard Gabe Vincent.
The Pacers become eligible to fill their 15th and final roster spot on November 5. James Johnson had been expected to take the spot, but that reunion may be delayed as injuries leave Indiana short on healthy players early in the season.
One option is Trey Jemison III, a 26-year-old center who was waived by Toronto after a hand injury. He spent last season on a two-way contract with the New York Knicks, providing depth at center. At 6-foot-10 and 270 pounds, Jemison is described as a capable rebounder and rim protector, a strong screener and a potential lob target. His career field-goal percentage is 55.5%. He offers little outside shooting and can struggle to protect the ball, but could add a different skill set to Indiana’s center group.
Kevin Love, 38, is another possible frontcourt addition. He averaged 6.7 points and 5.8 rebounds last season and could provide experienced cover if the Pacers need help in the big-man rotation. The team has also been dealing with injuries, including one to Tyrese Haliburton.
The third candidate is Gabe Vincent, a 30-year-old guard who has had injury trouble with the Lakers and received limited playing time in Atlanta. If healthy, he could offer defensive help and ball-handling, particularly when Haliburton is unavailable. The Pacers’ decision on the roster spot could come once they are eligible to sign a player on November 5.
