Drummond’s First Seven Knicks Games Show Uneven Results

Andre Drummond’s first seven games as a New York Knicks backup center ranged from strong contributions in wins to limited minutes and defensive struggles. The games ran from October 20 to November 2, 2026.
Published November 4, 2026. Andre Drummond has had an inconsistent start with the Knicks, who were 3-4 after their November 2 win over the Nets. Signed in the offseason to back up center Karl-Anthony Towns, Drummond has appeared in seven games, with his playing time and impact varying considerably.
His strongest outing came October 27 against Detroit, his former team. Drummond scored 10 points on five-of-seven shooting and grabbed eight rebounds in a Knicks win. New York outscored Detroit by 16 points during his 14 minutes and 14 seconds on the court, the team’s second-best plus-minus for the game.
Drummond also made an immediate impact in his October 20 debut against Philadelphia, recording 10 points and 12 rebounds in the first half as Towns dealt with early foul trouble. But Drummond made only one of five shots after halftime, and New York was outscored by 13 during his second-half minutes. In the November 2 Nets game, he helped limit Brooklyn to no points during his 2:53 on the floor in the fourth quarter, though he also airballed a close-range floater.
Other outings were mixed or difficult. Against Chicago on October 28, Drummond collected 11 rebounds and New York defended well during his minutes, but he missed four of six shots. He was benched in consecutive games against Orlando and Boston; against the Celtics on October 23, he spent a little more than seven minutes on court, picked up three fouls, and New York lost by eight. A poor defensive showing against Philadelphia on October 30 also placed that game near the bottom of his early-season performances.
