Tatum Sits Out Celtics’ Game Against Bucks
Jayson Tatum will miss Boston’s game against Milwaukee on November 4 for rest, after playing in each of the Celtics’ first seven games.
The Boston Celtics will be without Jayson Tatum when they host the Milwaukee Bucks on November 4. The team listed the star forward as out for rest after he had initially been marked questionable. Boston is playing its third game in four days.
Tatum has averaged 27 points, six rebounds and 7.9 assists while appearing in all seven games this season. He played on consecutive nights over the weekend and Monday. In a 109-93 defeat to Houston on Monday, he had 19 points, nine assists and six rebounds, shooting five for 16 from the floor and one for seven from beyond the arc.
The loss ended Boston’s five-game winning run and left the Celtics with a 5-2 record. Tatum missed much of last season as he healed from a torn Achilles tendon, but the team has designated this absence as rest rather than a new injury.
Paul George is expected back after missing Monday’s game. Guard Payton Pritchard is questionable with a right shoulder contusion, while Devin Carter is out because of illness.
Milwaukee arrives with a 1-6 record after losing 112-100 to Minnesota on Monday. Boston will try to rebound before starting a four-game road trip against Charlotte on Friday. Tatum’s absence gives the rest of the Celtics’ lineup a chance to shoulder more of the scoring.
