LeBron James Assists 205th Different NBA Teammate
LeBron James recorded a historic assist for Philadelphia against Detroit on November 4, helping the 76ers take a 56-42 halftime lead. The pass to Adem Bona marked the 205th different player he has assisted.
James reached the milestone with a one-handed pass beneath the basket to teammate Adem Bona, who finished with an open dunk. The achievement was identified during ESPN’s broadcast and described as the most different players assisted in the play-by-play era, when such records have been tracked.
At halftime in Detroit, James had eight points, seven rebounds and six assists, putting him on pace for a triple-double. Philadelphia held a 14-point lead over the Pistons in a matchup between two of the Eastern Conference’s top teams.
The 41-year-old was in his 24th NBA season and his first with Philadelphia, after signing with the 76ers as a free agent in the offseason. The team entered the game with a 7-1 record, while Detroit was 6-1.
James was posting averages of 16.2 points, seven rebounds and 7.3 assists each game. He ranked fourth on the NBA’s all-time assists list and was nearing Jason Kidd’s third-place total, with a possible move up the rankings in November or December.
