BYU’s Exhibition Wins Show Scoring Promise and Defensive Questions
BYU completed its preseason basketball exhibitions with wins over Nebraska and UNLV, offering an early look at Kevin Young’s team before its November 2 opener against Ohio State in Salt Lake City.
The Cougars beat Nebraska 72-61 at the Marriott Center on October 16, then defeated UNLV 89-77 on the road on October 24. They also won a closed-door scrimmage against Long Beach State, 102-53, on October 10. The exhibition results point to an offense with multiple scoring options, alongside defensive issues still to address.
