Perkins Moves Into Ole Miss’s Top Four in Career Sacks

Ole Miss senior linebacker Suntarine Perkins recorded two sacks against Auburn, bringing his career total to 22 and placing him fourth in the Rebels’ modern-era rankings. He has four regular-season games left to climb the list.
On November 2, Suntarine Perkins stood among Ole Miss’s most productive pass rushers after reaching 22 career sacks with two against Auburn. The senior moved past Phillip Kent’s 21 and into fourth place in the program’s modern-era record book.
Perkins is half a sack behind Sam Williams, who had 22.5 during his Ole Miss career. One more sack would give Perkins sole possession of third place. Greg Hardy is next at 26.5, while Marquis Haynes leads the rankings with 32.
Perkins has four regular-season games remaining: Georgia, Oklahoma, Wofford and Mississippi State. Four additional sacks would bring him within reach of Hardy’s total; five would put him ahead of Hardy. Reaching Haynes’s record would require 10 more sacks.
The Raleigh, Mississippi, native has built his total across four seasons. He recorded 3.5 sacks as a freshman in 2023, then had 10.5 in 2024. Last season, when he started all 15 games, he added 4.5 sacks along with 81 tackles and three forced fumbles.
Perkins was recognized before this season with the Chucky Mullins Courage Award and wore the No. 38 patch. He also entered the year with preseason All-SEC and All-America recognition. His performances in the remaining games will determine how far he rises on the Ole Miss list.
