USC landed a commitment from three-star defensive lineman Simeon Jones Jr. on November 2, after hosting him during the Trojans’ Halloween game against Ohio State in Los Angeles.

USC added South Carolina defensive lineman Simeon Jones Jr. to its 2027 recruiting class, turning him from a verbal James Madison commit into a Trojans recruit. Jones made the change official on November 2 and addressed it in a social media post on November 3, thanking the Dukes’ coaches for supporting him and giving him an opportunity.

The move followed USC’s 30-18 win over Ohio State at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on Halloween evening. Jones was among the visitors at the game, where the Trojans and coach Lincoln Riley had a chance to make their case to the North Augusta High School player.

Jones also praised USC for sending staff across the country to meet him and said he was prepared to take on the work and expectations that come with joining the program. He had received 20 offers from FBS schools, with Cincinnati his only Power Four option before USC pursued him, the story said.

At 6 feet tall and 330 pounds, Jones is expected to add depth at nose tackle. Defensive tackles coach Skyler Jones and defensive line coach Shaun Nua will work with him at USC. He is the Trojans’ first verbal commitment since safety Gavin Williams chose the program on May 17.
