Bears’ Pressure and Explosive Plays Sink Seahawks

The Chicago Bears beat the Seattle Seahawks 34-17 in Seattle on November 2, using defensive pressure and big plays to secure the win.
Seattle came into its matchup with Chicago after holding Kansas City to three points, but the Bears controlled much of Monday night’s game. The loss left the Seahawks at 4-4, while Chicago improved to 6-2. It was Seattle’s first loss by more than four points in two seasons.
Chicago’s defense repeatedly disrupted quarterback Sam Darnold, sacking him three times. He completed 17 of 34 passes for 188 yards, with two touchdown passes and one interception. The Seahawks’ running backs combined for 52 yards on 16 carries, and Seattle’s offense had four three-and-outs.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba was a standout for Seattle, finishing with six catches for 118 yards and a touchdown. His 43-yard scoring catch late in the first half helped cut Chicago’s lead, and Seattle made it 20-17 in the fourth quarter after DeMarcus Lawrence forced and recovered a fumble and Darnold threw a touchdown to Cooper Kupp.
The Bears answered after a late-hit penalty on Mike Morris gave them strong field position. Chicago quarterback Caleb Williams threw for 247 yards and a touchdown, while running back D’Andre Swift scored three times. The Bears also converted all four of their red-zone trips into touchdowns.
Seattle safety Julian Love called the team’s performance “disappointing” and said players wished they could have back some of their plays. Seattle coach Mike Macdonald said more balanced involvement among the receivers depended on the offense executing its assignments.
