Las Vegas’ rookies and second-year players contributed in a road win over the New York Jets on November 1, with Mike Washington leading the ground game and Ashton Jeanty making a key catch.

The Las Vegas Raiders leaned on their young players in their November 1 road win over the New York Jets, getting contributions across all three phases. Running back Mike Washington took on a larger role as Ashton Jeanty had a lighter workload, and his work on the ground helped the offense find opportunities.

Rookie offensive lineman Trey Zuhn III started at right guard after the Raiders struggled to settle the position. Coach Klint Kubiak said Monday that Zuhn looked prepared and played well, while noting there were areas the rookie would want to improve. The team had developed him at several spots along the line.

Jeanty had just one carry and one catch by halftime, but his 45-yard reception in the second half proved important late in the game. Kubiak said the Raiders would rely on Jeanty, Washington and Dylan Laube as runners and receivers. He also praised Jeanty’s pass protection.

Defensive back Treydan Stukes was part of a secondary that struggled, though he was in position to make a play on a big gain he allowed. Cornerback Jermod McCoy has been seeing more playing time, but the report noted he appeared a step behind at times after missing all of last season.

The Raiders may continue using Washington while Jeanty is not fully healthy. Their next test could offer another measure of Washington’s production: the team faces a much stronger San Francisco 49ers opponent.

Players: Dylan Laube, Ashton Jeanty, Treydan Stukes, Trey Zuhn III, Mike Washington Jr., Jermod McCoy
