Giants Favored in Philadelphia as Eagles’ Losing Streak Reaches Six

The New York Giants are favored to beat the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field in Week 9, with the game scheduled for November 8. Philadelphia enters the matchup on a six-game losing streak.
The Giants are favored to win in Philadelphia for the first time in nearly 17 years. Most sportsbooks had New York favored by 3.5 points on November 3, while FanDuel listed the Giants at minus-3. A Giants victory would be their first in Philadelphia since 2013.
The Eagles are 2-6 after losing 27-10 to Washington in Week 8, extending their losing streak to six games. They have been hit by injuries, trades and retirements, including the loss of quarterback Jalen Hurts, who is suffering from clots in his lungs. The team also traded center Cam Jurgens and saw longtime tackle Lane Johnson retire.
Philadelphia’s defensive struggles have compounded the problems. Washington ran for 5.2 yards per carry, and quarterback Jayden Daniels was not sacked until late in the game. The Eagles have allowed at least 20 points in five of their six consecutive losses.
New York, meanwhile, will be rested after its bye and is coming off a win over Houston. Running back Cam Skattebo had 124 yards and a touchdown in that game, while J.J. McCarthy went 20-for-28 as a passer, accumulating 252 yards. The Giants are 5-2 against the spread this season and lead the NFC East.
The matchup gives New York a chance to build on its division lead against an Eagles defense that has struggled to stop the run. Philadelphia will try to end its slide when the teams meet in Week 9.
