Three Tight Ends to Target on Waivers for Week 9

Photo: Sports Illustrated

On November 3, fantasy football managers were offered three tight end waiver options for Week 9: Mike Gesicki, Terrance Ferguson or Tyler Higbee, and Greg Dulcich.

Mike Gesicki is a potential starter for managers looking for a tight end, after scoring his sixth receiving touchdown of the season against Tennessee in Week 8. That is the most among tight ends in 2026. He ranks 12th at the position in fantasy points per game, averaging 11.0, and has lined up in the slot on 87.2% of his snaps for Cincinnati. His role includes vertical routes and red-zone opportunities, though he shares the Bengals’ offense with Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.

Terrance Ferguson could become a strong option for the Los Angeles Rams if he returns from injured reserve. Coach Sean McVay said Ferguson was likely to resume practice during the week. If Ferguson is unavailable again in Week 9, Tyler Higbee is a short-term alternative against Washington. The Commanders have given tight ends the second-highest schedule-adjusted fantasy scoring rate, allowing 10.7 points above average.

Greg Dulcich has a favorable matchup with Detroit, where tight ends have posted a league-best 14.7 schedule-adjusted fantasy points per game, 14.7 above average. Since Week 5, Dulcich ranks 13th among tight ends in fantasy points per game, with an average of 10.5. Miami is expected to trail Detroit, and the Lions have given up at least 14 fantasy points to six of their first seven opposing starting tight ends. Minnesota’s T.J. Hockenson scored 15.8 against Detroit in Week 8.

Players: Tyler Higbee, Mike Gesicki, T.J. Hockenson, Tee Higgins, Ja'Marr Chase, Greg Dulcich, Terrance Ferguson
