Bills Could Explore Trade for Eagles Linebacker Zack Baun

On November 4, 2026, a proposed trade would send Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Zack Baun to the Buffalo Bills as a potential defensive upgrade before the NFL trade deadline.
The Buffalo Bills have yet to make a move ahead of the NFL trade deadline, which is less than a week away. A proposed target is Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Zack Baun, whose versatility could address a weakness in Buffalo’s defense.
Buffalo has allowed the NFL’s 24th-most points, and other contenders, including the 49ers from San Francisco, Chicago’s Bears and Seattle’s Seahawks, have already added players. The proposal argues that the Bills need more support on defense so quarterback Josh Allen is not forced to carry such a heavy scoring burden against top opponents.
Baun, a 2020 third-round selection by the New Orleans Saints, emerged with Philadelphia in 2024 after signing a one-year contract. He recorded 151 tackles, 3.5 sacks and one interception that season, earning a Pro Bowl selection. He later signed a three-year, $51 million deal that runs through 2027.
His performance has continued to draw notice: Baun has a 79.7 overall grade from Pro Football Focus, the sixth-highest mark among NFL linebackers. He has shown ability both against the run and in pass coverage.
A deal nevertheless appears unlikely. Philadelphia has endured injuries, but is viewed as capable of contending when healthy, and Baun remains under contract for another season beyond this one. Buffalo general manager Brandon Beane could still ask whether the Eagles would consider a trade, but the proposal suggests Philadelphia is more likely to retain him.
