The Philadelphia Eagles named Joe Milton their starter against the New York Giants, replacing Tanner McKee, on November 4.

The Philadelphia Eagles are turning to Joe Milton as their starting quarterback against the New York Giants, benching Tanner McKee in a bid to change course for an offense that has struggled. The team’s decision was confirmed on November 4, ahead of the matchup.

McKee had taken over after Jalen Hurts went on injured reserve with blood clots in his lungs. The Eagles lost all three games McKee started and entered the change on a six-game losing streak. Philadelphia is 2-6 and last in the NFC East.

Milton, 26, is expected to make his first start in the NFL. Philadelphia signed him from the Dallas Cowboys’ practice squad just over two weeks before the decision. He has appeared in five NFL games, completing 37 of 53 passes for 424 yards, with two touchdowns and two interceptions.

A sixth-round pick by New England in 2024, Milton later joined Dallas in a trade. He played in four games for the Cowboys last season. McKee, also 26, has thrown for 638 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions this season.
