Five Week 8 Running Back Workloads to Watch

A fantasy football usage review published on November 4 highlighted five running backs across the Bears, Buccaneers, Raiders and Broncos, and assessed their Week 8 workloads for Week 9 lineups.
D'Andre Swift carried 19 times for 88 yards and a touchdown for Chicago in Week 8, adding three catches for 24 yards. The review sees his recent production as a chance to sell high, with Kyle Monangai nearing a return from injury and potentially competing for work. It rates Swift as an RB2 while warning that his role could shrink.
Tampa Bay’s Bucky Irving had 27 carries for 170 yards and a touchdown, with no receptions. The review calls him an every-week fantasy anchor, pointing to his recent heavy workload and Week 8 performance.
For the Raiders, Mike Washington Jr. recorded 25 carries for 83 yards, cutting into Ashton Jeanty’s workload. The review recommends adding Washington as a speculative option, while cautioning that Jeanty’s role may not disappear.
Kenneth Gainwell, also listed as a Tampa Bay back, rushed 25 times for 140 yards without scoring. The review attributes the unusual volume in part to Florida weather limiting the passing game and advises against expecting that workload to continue.
Denver rookie Jonah Coleman had 12 carries for 54 yards and a touchdown, plus two catches for 18 yards. With RJ Harvey on injured reserve, the review says Coleman has taken over the lead role and could be a useful depth or flex option, though his output may vary with game flow.
