Avalanche Adjust Roster Ahead of Chicago Road Game

The Colorado Avalanche expect Logan O’Connor to return and recalled defenseman Keaton Middleton before facing the Chicago Blackhawks in Chicago on November 2. Gavin Brindley was sent to the Colorado Eagles.
Colorado is making several roster changes as it prepares for its November 2 game against Chicago. O’Connor is expected back after missing the Avalanche’s 5-2 win over Calgary, while Brindley has been reassigned to the team’s AHL affiliate, the Colorado Eagles. Brindley played about 12 minutes in Saturday’s game against the Flames.
The Avalanche also recalled defenseman Keaton Middleton. His addition gives Colorado another option while Josh Manson is sidelined with an ankle injury sustained on October 28 against New Jersey. Manson is expected to miss about eight weeks. Noah Juulsen filled in against Calgary, and Middleton could provide extra defensive depth during the road trip.
Colorado entered the Chicago matchup with an 8-5-1 record, but has struggled away from home. The team has lost three straight road games and has not won on the road since beating Dallas on October 13. Its recent results include two encouraging games, and the matchup with the Blackhawks offers a chance to improve its road form.
Chicago was 4-9-1 entering the game. The contest is the first of a back-to-back road set for Colorado, which faces the Columbus Blue Jackets on November 3. Puck drop in Chicago was scheduled for 6:08 p.m. Mountain Time.
