Blackhawks’ Green Alternate Jerseys Draw a Lukewarm Welcome

Chicago introduced its green Hometown Remix jerseys against the Colorado Avalanche on November 2, 2026, but the familiar design and a crowded run of recent uniform releases tempered fan enthusiasm.
The Chicago Blackhawks wore their new green Hometown Remix uniforms for the first time against the Colorado Avalanche on November 2, 2026. The launch drew a muted response from fans, with some noting the jerseys’ resemblance to both the team’s earlier St. Patrick’s Day sweaters and the Dallas Stars’ home look.
The design takes its main color from the green feather in Chicago’s primary crest. A crossed-C emblem appears on the shoulders, while tan details replace white accents seen on earlier green versions. The collar is black, with tan laces, and the sleeve stripes feature four raised stars modeled on those in the Chicago flag.
The uniforms recall green jerseys the Blackhawks previously wore for St. Patrick’s Day, before the NHL prohibited specialty warmup jerseys in 2023. Green team sweaters had become a familiar sight among fans at the United Center.
The new Fanatics Hometown Remix collection includes alternate designs for all 32 NHL teams. Some teams opted for distinctive throwback or colorful styles, including pink for Florida and a green, purple and yellow design for Anaheim. Chicago’s close return to an existing look stood out less amid the collection’s varied designs.
The Blackhawks have also had several recent uniform releases: red Centennial jerseys last season and black alternates introduced last November that remain in use. The team’s struggles on the ice may also be limiting excitement among supporters.
Chicago is scheduled to wear the green sweaters again on December 29 against Vegas, then four times from March 8 through March 16. The team generally uses its black alternates on Fridays.
