Nashville beat defending Stanley Cup champion Carolina 4-1 at home on November 3, earning its second straight win. Juuse Saros made 29 saves, while Josi scored and assisted once, and Colton also scored and set up a goal.

The Predators controlled the key moments against the defending champions, opening the scoring in the first period and carrying a 1-0 lead into the break. Nick Perbix got his first of the season, finishing a cross-ice setup from Filip Forsberg.

Forsberg assisted again early in the second, when Roman Josi scored to make it 2-0. Carolina’s Jackson Blake cut the lead to one on November 3, collecting his own rebound and scoring on a backhand. It was his seventh consecutive game with a point.

Nashville restored its two-goal cushion on November 3. Adam Edström redirected Josi’s shot for his sixth goal of the season. Ross Colton added an empty-netter in the final minute, also giving him an assist in the game.

Saros stopped 29 shots as Nashville’s penalty kill held Carolina scoreless on two power plays. The loss ended the Hurricanes’ four-game winning streak and was the first of the season for goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov, who had won his first 10 starts. Nashville, now on a two-game winning streak, is scheduled to play at Colorado on November 5; Carolina next hosts the New York Islanders.
