The St. Louis Blues beat the Boston Bruins 4-1 at Enterprise Center in St. Louis on October 29, handing Boston its second straight loss.

James Hagens gave Boston an early lead, redirecting Casey Mittelstadt’s pass into the net at 5:28 of the first period. St. Louis answered on its first power play: Jimmy Snuggerud scored at 15:43, four seconds after Charlie McAvoy was penalized for interference. The teams went to the first intermission tied 1-1.

Philip Broberg put the Blues ahead at 5:17 of the second period, shooting from the slot. Robert Thomas added another at 12:08 to make it 3-1. Thomas and Broberg each finished with a goal and two assists.

Jake Neighbours scored on a St. Louis power play at 12:42 of the third, six seconds after Morgan Geekie was called for tripping. That goal completed the scoring in the 4-1 victory.

Joel Hofer stopped 31 of Boston’s 32 shots. Jeremy Swayman made 14 saves on 18 shots. The Bruins, now 9-4-1, lost both games on their brief road trip after also falling to Carolina. Boston hosts the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday at TD Garden. The Blues, 6-6-1, visit the Detroit Red Wings that day.
