The Islanders welcome Edmonton’s Oilers in Elmont on Saturday, October 31, after beating Minnesota 4-3 in overtime. Edmonton arrives with a 9-2-2 record and a five-game road winning streak.

The Islanders will begin a demanding stretch at home against Edmonton, followed by games against Carolina and New Jersey. New York has earned points in seven of its last eight games and is coming off a 4-3 overtime victory over the Minnesota Wild. Saturday’s matchup is the teams’ first meeting this season.

Edmonton is 9-2-2 overall and has won all five of its road games. The Islanders are 7-4-2, including a 4-1-1 home record. Over their last 10 games, the Oilers are 7-2-1 and averaging 3.8 goals per game; New York is 6-2-2, averaging three. Both teams have allowed 2.6 goals per game during that span.

Leon Draisaitl leads Edmonton with 12 goals and 12 assists. Connor McDavid has recorded six goals and 21 assists over his last 10 games. For New York, Bo Horvat has tallied seven goals and added seven assists, while Matthew Schaefer has found the net four times and contributed eight assists in his last 10 games. Schaefer scored the overtime winner against Minnesota and could be matched against Edmonton defenseman Evan Bouchard.

New York is dealing with a significant list of injured players. Defenseman Ryan Pulock is expected to miss Saturday’s game; Matt Kessel could enter the lineup in his place. The Islanders may open the homestand with 12 healthy forwards and six defensemen. Several Oilers are also listed as unavailable, including Zach Hyman, who is out with a neck injury.

The game is scheduled for 2 p.m. EDT on October 31, 2026, at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York.
