Yelich Serves Fans After Brewers’ World Series Victory

On November 2, Brewers star Christian Yelich served food and greeted fans at a Raising Cane’s in Greendale, Wisconsin, days after Milwaukee won its first World Series.
Christian Yelich traded his Brewers uniform for a Raising Cane’s shirt on November 2, serving chicken fingers at the chain’s Greendale location. Fans began gathering the night before, and Yelich helped customers inside and at the drive-through before meeting people outside the restaurant.
Yelich said the turnout was an honor and showed how excited people were about the team. His usual order is the Box Combo, though he sometimes skips the coleslaw.
The appearance came after a whirlwind stretch that included traveling from Tampa, celebrating at Milwaukee’s championship parade and appearing on Saturday Night Live. Yelich said the title was still sinking in after several busy days, but he had managed to get some sleep. He described the TV appearance as a rare opportunity he wanted to enjoy, whether or not it went smoothly.
He also said the World Series had reminded him how many people follow baseball, noting that figures including Lorne Michaels, Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks had discussed enjoying the series.
Yelich said he planned to rest and recover during the offseason, and was glad the championship team would remain a lasting bond among its players. He has played for Milwaukee since 2018 and is under contract through 2028, with a mutual option for 2029. When he signed an extension in 2020, he said bringing a World Series title to Milwaukee was a goal. Six years later, the Brewers had won the franchise’s first championship.
