Buffalo Bills receiver Tyrell Shavers returned to practice after recovering from a torn ACL, as the team considers opening a roster spot with Josh Palmer injured. Shavers practiced during the week before Buffalo’s November 1 win over Baltimore.

The Buffalo Bills have begun a 21-day window to decide whether to activate wide receiver Tyrell Shavers, who returned to practice after tearing his ACL in January. Shavers had been on the physically unable to perform list since training camp and took part on a limited basis during the week before the Bills beat the Baltimore Ravens on November 1.

Coach Joe Brady has not said when Shavers will be added to the active roster. Josh Palmer’s hamstring injury late in the first quarter against Baltimore could increase the need for another receiver. Buffalo has six wide receivers on its 53-player squad, including Palmer and punt returner Greg Dortch.

Shavers, 27, made the roster in 2025 after two years on the practice squad. He appeared in all 17 regular-season games, starting nine, and played 39 percent of the offensive snaps. He caught 15 passes on 23 targets for 245 yards and a touchdown, while also contributing as a blocker and on special teams.

Brady praised Shavers’ commitment to the team, while quarterback Josh Allen highlighted the receiver’s perseverance through a winding path to the NFL and his recovery from injury. Shavers said on October 28 that he felt his return was on schedule and was ready to play. The team’s decision on activating him remains pending.

Players: Josh Allen, Greg Dortch, Josh Palmer, Tyrell Shavers
