On November 3, the Washington Commanders placed running back Jeremy McNichols on injured reserve after he suffered a potentially season-ending foot injury in the team’s Week 8 win over the Philadelphia Eagles. He joins Jacory Croskey-Merritt on injured reserve.
With McNichols out, Washington had two veteran running backs available: Rachaad White and Austin Ekeler. The team added another option by claiming rookie Robert Henry Jr. from the Seattle Seahawks’ practice squad.
Henry went undrafted in 2026 and signed with Washington before Seattle added him from Washington’s developmental roster in early October. Washington had previously let Kaytron Allen, a player selected in round six, go; Allen is now with the Miami Dolphins.
The Commanders are 2-4-1 after their win over division rival Philadelphia. They are set to host the Los Angeles Rams in their Week 9 matchup on Sunday, with kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m. ET.
Players: Austin Ekeler, Jeremy McNichols, Rachaad White, Jacory Croskey-Merritt, Kaytron Allen
