Three Trade Targets Could Shore Up Chargers’ Roster

On November 4, the 0-7 Los Angeles Chargers were urged to consider low-cost trades for players who could strengthen their offensive line and secondary while helping protect quarterback Justin Herbert.
With Los Angeles struggling to run the ball and protect Justin Herbert, the Chargers could look for modest additions before the trade deadline rather than make a major push to improve their season. The proposed approach would also give the team a chance to assess players who might contribute in the future.
One possibility is Tampa Bay tight end Ko Kieft, whose playing time has fallen since an elbow injury and the emergence of rookie Bauer Sharp. Kieft can block defensive linemen and serve as a lead blocker. He is due to become a free agent in 2027, and a late-round pick exchange could be enough to acquire him, the proposal suggests.
Philadelphia defensive back Kelee Ringo is another potential target. He has mainly played special teams this season, while Los Angeles needs help at both cornerback and on special teams. Chargers special teams cornerback Deane Leonard has missed time with injuries and is in the final year of his deal. Ringo could offer depth now and potentially remain in the team’s plans if he develops.
The third name is Rams guard Justin Dedich, who can fill any of the three inside spots. He remains on injured reserve after an offseason injury, despite making a significant contribution to the Rams during the prior season. A trade would transfer the injury risk to Los Angeles, and the Chargers would need to consider their limited reserve-list activations. The proposed price is another possible late Day 3 pick swap.
