Bengals Linked to Gainwell and Chaisson as Trade Targets

The Cincinnati Bengals could pursue Tampa Bay running back Kenneth Gainwell and Washington edge rusher K’Lavon Chaisson before the trade deadline, in a bid to bolster their offense and defense.
On November 4, the Bengals were identified as a possible fit for Buccaneers running back Kenneth Gainwell and Commanders outside linebacker K’Lavon Chaisson. Cincinnati could use another option behind Chase Brown, while also seeking defensive upgrades.
Gainwell signed a two-year, $14 million contract with Tampa Bay after leaving Pittsburgh in free agency. He has $3 million in guaranteed salary for 2027, which a team acquiring him would have to account for. The Buccaneers would avoid taking on 2027 dead money in a trade. Gainwell has been used less in Tampa Bay than he was with the Steelers, and is viewed as a capable receiver who could contribute on third downs.
Washington agreed to pay Chaisson $11 million for one season. In six games, he has 2.5 sacks and 17 pressures, tied for the team lead. He recorded 7.5 sacks with New England last season and set a career high with 74 pressures. He can provide situational pass-rush help, though his run defense is a concern.
Cincinnati has gotten production from edge rushers including Cashius Howell and Boye Mafe, while Shemar Stewart was recently left out as a healthy scratch. The Bengals could consider another edge rusher, alongside adding depth at running back.
