Quentin Lake Mocks Herbert After Rams Interception

On November 4, Rams safety Quentin Lake ridiculed Justin Herbert’s passing after Los Angeles beat the Chargers 24-9, saying he expected to intercept the struggling quarterback.
Quentin Lake had a blunt description of Justin Herbert’s passing in the Rams’ 24-9 win over the Chargers. The Rams safety intercepted Herbert during the game, then joked about the quarterback’s throws during an appearance on the St. Brown Podcast, discussed on November 4.
Lake said Herbert was “seeing ghosts” and compared his passes to deli meat. He also said the Rams expected to come away with multiple interceptions. The remark added another food-based jab to the criticism Herbert has faced for his play this season.
Herbert has thrown five touchdown passes and 10 interceptions this season. His struggles have drawn jokes from others, including Tom Brady, who previously likened one of Herbert’s passes to a meatball sub during a Chargers game against the Bills.
Lake’s comments came from a player who had intercepted Herbert on the field, rather than from a fan or broadcaster. The Rams’ victory left the Chargers with a 0-7 record, while Herbert’s interception total remained a prominent part of the season’s discussion.
